Trauma-Informed services for families
Dídean provides trauma-informed social care and own-door accommodation to families and individuals with high needs in the international protection system. Our service is delivered in own-door homes within established communities, with social care and integration support
Compassionate Person-Centred Care
Dídean provides specialist social care to families in the international protection system who present with high or complex needs. Our cohort includes:
Children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism, epilepsy, cerebral palsy and rare congenital disorders
Children and adults managing chronic medical and complex healthcare conditions
Pregnant women and new mothers requiring perinatal and postnatal support
Families and individuals managing significant trauma profiles, including survivors of gender-based violence and exploitation
Our approach is trauma-informed and person-centred, with care planned around the assessed needs of each resident.
Own door non congregated accomodation
Each family is accommodated in its own home, geographically dispersed across the communities in which we operate. Properties are located close to schools, healthcare services, places of worship, shops and public transport, and are standardised to meet national accommodation standards. All properties are subject to comprehensive maintenance and safety programmes, and have consistently passed independent inspection
Needs Assessment
Every resident receives a comprehensive needs assessment on admission, which informs the development of their Individual Integration Plan (IIP). The IIP is the central instrument of Dídean's care model — a social care-led plan that runs from the point of admission, throughout the status decision process, and into onward transition. Through the IIP, residents are supported to access employment, education, healthcare and community services, with the goal of independent integrated life on exit
Dedicated Key Worker
Every resident is supported throughout their stay by a dedicated trained key worker who delivers their Individual Integration Plan. The key worker is the resident's point of continuity across the full journey — from admission, through the status decision process, into housing search, deposit support and landlord engagement at the point of transition
Self Catering
Dídean residents self-cater and manage their own household budgets through a household allowance structure, supported by a pre-paid card. Budgeting is part of the integration journey — residents work with their key worker to develop the household management skills required for independent life post-status
Translation Services
Dídean operates a comprehensive translation and accessibility service for residents, covering over 150 languages. Translation is available in person, by phone and by video conferencing. Sign language services are also available in person and by video conferencing
Drop In Centre
Dídean operates a dedicated drop-in centre in each region of our service. The centre facilitates meetings with State agencies, public services and legal representatives; provides an information hub for residents navigating the protection system; and offers technology access for residents who need it
